Why are we having trouble conceiving a baby?

Why is my baby not in the correct head-down position?

Babies can often times become breech when there is constraint, tension or torque on the uterus which does not allow for baby to move into the correct head-down position.

Do Chiropractors "Turn" Breech Babies into the correct position?

No.  Turning a breech baby while in the mother's womb is not under the scope of chiropractic. It is called an External Cephalic Version (ECV) done by a Medical Doctor, usually in a hospital setting in case there are complications.

 

So how can my chiropractor help with my breech baby situation?

Chiropractors take a different and more conservative approach. The round ligaments (which are like cables suspending the uterus in the abdomen) are anchored to the sacrum (the bone at the base of the spine). The Webster protocol involves an analysis and adjustment of the sacrum and other soft tissue structures of the pelvis.  When performed by your prenatal chiropractor, The Webster Adjustment can help to biomechanically balance the pelvis, which in turn can decrease in-utero constraint. Often this allows the baby to move into the correct position on his or her own.
